Otto's Shrunken Head, New York City

Otto's Shrunken Head, New York City

Located in New York City's East Village Otto's Shrunken Head is a Tiki bar with a distinctly dive bar vibe. Pufferfish lamps hang over the bar and Tiki mugs decorate the bar's entrance. Music is loud and favors punk, as does the crowd that frequents the bar.

Opened in 2002, the bar serves drinks in Tiki mugs, all available for purchase, including their namesake shrunken head mug. All your standards are here: Mai Tais, Singapore Slings, Zombies, and, of course, a shareable flaming Volcano bowl, named the Volcano Blast.

Live music, DJs, comedians, burlesque and other performers frequent the stage and the bar has a monthly karaoke night. Typically there is no cover, but occasionally a special event may require a cover.

No food is served and the bar is open daily from 2 pm - 4 am. No one under 21 will be admitted; be sure to bring your ID as it will be checked. $20 minimum on credit card orders. No reservations are accepted and weekends generally mean a packed house and long waits for cocktails.
