Conrad Maldives Rangali Island, Maldives
Located in the Ari Atoll of the Maldives, the Conrad Maldives Rangali Island resort offers both land-based and overwater bungalows, spread across two islands. Rangalifinolhu Island is home to the resort’s beach villas and Rangali Island is home to both the award-winning Over Water Spa — complete with glass-floored treatment rooms — and the overwater bungalows.
Conrad Rangali Island, Maldives
Featuring a private plunge pool and a ladder leading directly into the Indian Ocean, overwater bungalows at the Conrad Maldives make an ideal home base for a romantic respite. Larger family-sized overwater villas that sleep up to four are also available and the resort’s two-bedroom 4,800 square foot sunset villa sleeps up to six and comes complete with a 24-hour island hosts to attend to your needs.
In addition to land-based villas and overwater bungalows, the resort opened the one-of-a-kind Muraka, an underwater bungalow, in November 2018. At $50k per night, the villa sleeps up to nine and the experience is worth every penny.
Laze away the days snorkeling through the coral gardens, watching manta rays, or swimming with whale sharks. During manta season (November to April) the creatures can be seen almost nightly swimming under the bridge between Rangalifinolhu Island and Rangali Island. Grab a cocktail and hang out on the bridge after dark to enjoy the show. Board the resort’s luxury yacht, Rangali Rani, for a luxury sunrise or sunset sail, complete with cocktails and nibbles.
If a more active trip is what you’re looking for, the resort offers yoga, tennis, beach volleyball, and those futuristic looking jetpacks that allow you to hover above the water. For a unique experience, book an hour-long photo shoot in the resort’s undersea restaurant.
Dining options at Conrad Maldives Rangali Island include 12 award-winning restaurants and bars, but the highlight is the world's first undersea restaurant. Ithaa Under Sea Restaurant serves lunch and dinner 16 feet below the surface with 180-degree views of the coral gardens that surround it. Mid-morning cocktails are served and the restaurant can be privately booked for breakfast or special events, such as weddings. Private beach dining and bespoke menus are also available.
On Mondays, local cuisine is served at Ari Lounge Beach and Maldivian Bodu Beru musicians perform. A Fisherman’s Barbecue is the highlight of Wednesday and Saturday is the indulgent Champagne & Lobster Night.
Located just over 300 feet off the tip of Rangalifinolhu Island the resort’s overwater spa focuses on health and wellbeing with a host of holistic tailored treatments, including Maldivian indigenous options. Mandhoo Spa Restaurant features a nourishing organic menu with many locally grown ingredients. After sun soothing wraps and four-hand massages ensure pure relaxation. For true spa junkies, spa villa water retreats are located near the spa and come with their own private in-villa treatment room.
Say “I do”, then sail into the sunset on a traditional Maldivian dhoni or celebrate your ceremony in Ithaa, the resort’s undersea restaurant, which can be transformed into the world’s only undersea wedding chapel.
Got a sizable guest list? Rent out the entire island for up to 100 guests and make your wedding truly unforgettable. Just remember to make your union legal back home as wedding ceremonies performed in the Maldives are not recognized back in the US.
