Adrift Tiki Bar, Denver, Colorado

Adrift Tiki Bar, Denver, Colorado

It may be cold outside in Denver, but the décor and the cocktails at Adrift Tiki Bar are hot hot hot! The vintage Polynesian Tiki bar and grill, located on South Broadway in the heart of Denver, is a warm respite in the heart of winter.

The front of the building is fairly nondescript black brick and glass, but two massive Tikis tell you that you’re in the right place. Inside bamboo walls, thatch awnings, and tropical ephemera make you feel like you’ve left the mainland and escaped to an island. There’s waiter service and outdoor patio seating for when the weather isn’t quite so frightful.

The tropical cocktail menu is large and features favorites such as Macadamia Nut Chi-Chis, the Zombie, the Fog Cutter, the classic Mai Tai and the Singapore Sling. And then there’s the big sharable cocktails like the Baker Fire Bowl, Planter’s Punch, and the Scorpion Bowl. Each are available in sizes serving 2-4) people. Highly recommended for the fun factor, unless sharing isn’t your thing. If wine is your thing, well, they serve it by the can. Beer is also available, including some local craft specialties.

If you need some nourishment to soak up all that alcohol, the island-inspired menu does not disappoint. Snack on a pupu platter featuring pele duck wings, guava BBQ ribs, Kona Kalua Pork sliders, Spam musubi and more or go for a classic Hawaiian mix plate with your choice of huli huli chicken, Kona Kalua Port or grilled tofu and traditional sides of steamed rice, mac salad, a King’s Hawaiian roll, and grilled pineapple.

Happy Hour is from 4-7pm Tuesday through Friday and reservations can be made on OpenTable.
